Transition Management

" If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change the way you think about it." ~ Unknown

The old terms for this service were career development, career transition, or life planning. At Mather we believe that many major changes in life can be thoughtfully planned for, either before or after the actual "change" event(s). Whether you plan on changing careers, moving, going from single to married, or married to single, having children…or whether any of those events happened unexpectedly, including losing loved ones…All the chaos, confusion, and emotions surrounding these and other transitions, can be mitigated by effective coaching and counseling through our individualized planning process. In fact, these transitions can be enhanced to become important life learning skills that will help you in future transitions.

Depending on the kind of transition and individual need, we use a variety of resources, from the Internet to special self-analysis tools to advice interviews to Richard Bolles' What Color Is Your Parachute? to Abigail Prafford's Crazy Time: Surviving Divorce and Building a New Life.

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore. Dream. Discover."

~ Mark Twain
